The Edinburgh Easter Festival is delighted to claim The Lord Provost, The Right Honourable Lesley Hinds and Councillor Donald Anderson Leader – The City of Edinburgh Council as distinguished Patrons of The Edinburgh Easter Festival 2005.

The Lord Provost
The Right Honourable Lesley Hinds

Last Years Easter Festival was a terrific family event, adding to Edinburgh’s impressive cultural tourism calendar and bringing much benefit to the local economy.

The festival has been extended for 2005 and, like last year I’m sure it will create a wonderful atmosphere in the city for local residents and visitors alike.

I look forward to welcoming the 5,000 performers from the UK, Europe and America to our fabulous city and hope the five day fiesta will be a memorable event for all those who come to watch and take part in the various concerts and events.

Leader – The City of Edinburgh Council
Councillor Donald Anderson

Edinburgh is quite rightly known as the Festival City.  Throughout the year, hundreds of thousands of people enjoy the numerous world-class events that the city hosts.  The Easter Festival is a great family event where people can enjoy both international and homegrown performers.

The Easter Festival adds to Edinburgh’s cultural tourism calendar and the local economy.  Last year, the event injected £4 million into the capital’s economy, benefiting the accomodation and retail sectors in particular.  It also further boosts our reputation as a dynamic and cultural city with a host of attractions for residents and visitors to enjoy.
